Rounding home

Tomorrow begins December (which not only means that I've completed NaBloPoMo for the sixth year, but also:) and it's crazy to look down the end of 2013. This year has been running and sewing and Candy Crush Saga and obsessively reading historical fiction. It's been our last round of potty training and kindergarten and a new portfolio for each of us at work. This year has brought us some wonderful new friendships at both the kiddie and grownie age sets. This is the year we switched synagogues after years of dithering about it; this is the year our kids lost their last great-grandparents. We've come a long way from 2012.

Between my birthday at the end of the month and then New Year's, December has for my whole life always felt like a big countdown to all the world's new beginnings. I love December. Anticipation is a wonderful sensation and it's a month where everyone is happy. I like the mood and all the twinkly lights.

Happy December's Eve.
