Bye-bye, silicone implant, bye-bye

In the end, good prevailed over evil. Medical advances prevailed over congenital dacrostenosis. The little silicone tube that lived in L's eye the past three months did its duty.

That is not a bubble in the corner of her left eye. It is an implanted tube that leads led through her nasal passages to a punctured drainage hole.

And today without ceremony or fanfare, with no-nonsense tweezers, out it came. I can't say I'll miss it. (L's eye was numbed. She was mad as hell about being held down. Now she's doing great.)
