A room of one's own

M picked the girls up from daycare today because I had a late afternoon appointment. When I got home this evening, E was very excited about something fun they had done in class today. But I never figured out exactly what it was.

Me: "How was your day today?"
Her: Fine!!!
Me: "Did you do anything fun today?"
Her: YES! Today was FUN!
Me: "What was so fun?"
Her: Muppets porpoise!
Me: "Huh?"
Her: We had Muppets porpoise today!
Me: "You had...what?"
Her: Muppets porpoise, Mama! We were in Muppets porpoise today!

Well, I never found out what all that fun was, but I did figure out where it took place: in the multi-purpose room.

I think her name for it is better.

Where does imagination live? In a room with friendly waters and long-held breaths. In a room with infectious giggles and dancing and singing and googly eyes. In a room with primordial wisdom and faith that everyday explorations should be fun and vividly colored. Where does imagination live? In the Muppets-porpoise room.

Plus some real activities, too, of course. But I have no idea what those are.
